Talk on “Kizuna Project – Experiences and Lessons learnt in Japan” by VI semester students - Ms. Nithya and Ms. Yeshashshree who had won a visit to Japan through the All India Japanese Speech Competition. They were part of the Indian Delegation in March, 2013. They spoke about the awareness of the disaster recovery of Japan

Symposium on Design Patterns in Practice

Four experienced speakers from the industry visit the PESIT-BSC campus to talk about the importance and use of Design Patterns in practice. Speakers include Mr. Venkatakrishnan S, Mr. Srinivas KS, Mr. Bala Santhanam and Mr. Sudhir. The discussion covered various design patterns as well as concepts such as the open-close principle, the Hollywood principle, the dependency inversion principle and a lot more.

MATLAB training

A basic introduction to MATLAB and its tools in a session conducted by Asst. Prof. Mr. Karthik S. Beginners were exposed to the various functionalities offered by MATLAB.

An Introduction to Classifier Building

Mr. Sandesh BJ(HOD ISE) provided an insight into classifier building using MATLAB as a tool, in a session aimed at generating interest towards various pattern recognition and image processing projects and publications.

STAR Activity

This outreach program comprised of 3 sessions – each session being 2 hours long with breaks. The students were invited to our campus to gain exposure and made aware of the various career choices available - in Engineering, non-engineering and science fields by good experienced noted speakers. Lunch and transport facility for the participating students will be provided for by our college. This event was successfully conducted on October 5th 2013, at our college campus, and received good feedback from the students and staff.
